Post Details

BDL invites applications for the post of Project Engineer in three disciplines: Electronics, Mechanical, and Computer Science. The engagement is purely temporary on a contract basis, initially for one year, extendable up to four years based on performance and organizational requirements. The place of posting will be BDL Project Office, ADE, Bengaluru, but candidates may be transferred to any BDL unit across India.

Reservation: SC-3, ST-1, OBC (NCL)-5, EWS-2, UR-9 (combined across disciplines).

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a First Class (60% aggregate) BE/B.Tech/B.Sc Engineering (4 years) or Integrated ME/MTech in the relevant discipline from an AICTE-approved institution. For SC/ST candidates applying against reserved posts, 55% marks are sufficient. No rounding off of marks is allowed (59.99% is not treated as 60%).

Experience Requirement

A minimum of 1 year of post-qualification industrial experience in the relevant domain is mandatory. Academic/teaching/internship/project work experience will not be counted.

Age Limit

The upper age limit is reckoned as on 07.05.2026. Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India rules.

There is no application fee for any category. However, no TA or DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Salary

The monthly salary for Project Engineers is as follows:

Additionally, an annual allowance of ₹10,000/- is paid in two instalments towards medical insurance premium, attire allowance, stitching charges, and footwear expenses.

Selection Process

The selection is based on a total of 100 marks with the following components:

• 75 marks – Academic percentage (1 mark per % of degree, max 75)
• 10 marks – Post-qualification experience (1 year = 3 points, 2 years = 6 points, 3+ years = 10 points)
• 15 marks – Walk-in interview performance

Minimum qualifying marks: 60% (relaxed for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD as per government rules).
