CSIR UGC NET June 2026: National-Level Eligibility Test for JRF, Assistant Professor & PhD Admission

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the detailed information bulletin and notification for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2026 Examination on 27 May 2026. This prestigious national-level entrance test determines the eligibility of Indian nationals for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor, and admissions to Ph.D. programmes across leading Indian universities and institutions. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • General / EWS: Minimum 55% aggregate marks in Master’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university.
  • OBC-NCL / SC / ST / PwD / Third Gender: Minimum 50% aggregate marks in Master’s degree.
  • Four-Year Bachelor’s Programme: Candidates with a 4-year Bachelor’s degree and minimum 75% marks (70% for reserved categories) are also eligible.
  • Appearing Candidates: Those currently pursuing Master’s or awaiting final results can apply provisionally.

Age Limit

  • Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): Maximum 30 years as of July 2026. Relaxation of up to 5 years for OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, Third Gender, and female candidates.
  • Assistant Professor & PhD Admission: No upper age limit.
