The Jharkhand Home Guard Vahini, Ramgarh has officially released Advertisement No. 01/2026 for the recruitment of Home Guards (Grih Rakshak) in both Rural and Urban categories. This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 284 vacancies across Ramgarh district. Organization Overview

The Jharkhand Home Guard Vahini is a voluntary organization functioning under the Home Department of the Government of Jharkhand. Home Guards are deployed on duty as per necessity and are paid allowances at rates determined by the government for the number of working days of deployment. The enrollment is for a period of 4 years as per the Jharkhand Home Guard (Volunteer) Rules, 2014. This recruitment is specifically for the Ramgarh district.

Post Details

The recruitment is for the post of Home Guard / Grih Rakshak in two categories: Rural (Gramin) and Urban (Shahri). A total of 284 posts are available, with 213 for Rural and 71 for Urban areas. In both categories, 50% of posts are reserved for women candidates.

Eligibility Criteria

Domicile

For Rural Home Guards: The applicant must be a permanent resident of the block of Ramgarh district from which they are applying. For Urban Home Guards: The applicant must be a general resident of the urban area of Ramgarh district. An online residential certificate issued by the competent authority must be submitted.

Educational Qualification

Rural Home Guard: Minimum Class 7th Pass. Urban Home Guard: Minimum Matriculation (Class 10th) Pass.

Physical Standards

Technical Proficiency (Urban Technical only)

Candidates must be skilled in technical fields such as Doctor, Engineer, Teacher, Computer Operator, Driver, Electrician, etc., and should be working/self-employed in related establishments.

Age Limit

As on 01.01.2026, the minimum age is 19 years and the maximum age is 40 years for both Rural and Urban Home Guard posts.

Application Fee

The application fee is ₹100/- (One Hundred Rupees) for all categories. The fee must be paid online through the recruitment portal.

Selection Process

The selection process includes a Physical Test, Hindi Writing Ability Test, and for Urban Technical candidates, a Technical Proficiency Test. Marks are awarded based on performance in physical events. The Hindi Writing Test is qualifying with a pass mark of 30 out of 100. Sports bonus marks and bonus marks for government servants are also applicable.
