The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), an autonomous scientific society under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, has released Detailed Advertisement No. NHQ-12/22/2025-NC [3160304] for the recruitment of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor purely on a contract basis. Applications are invited from eligible candidates for various centers across India. The selected candidates will be engaged initially for a period of one year, which may be extended based on performance and requirement.

NIELIT invites applications for the following teaching positions:

• Assistant Professor – Multiple vacancies across centers
• Associate Professor – Multiple vacancies across centers
• Professor – Vacancies as per notification

Emoluments for Assistant Professor: Rs. 60,000/- to Rs. 70,000/- per month (CTC)

Associate Professor Vacancy Details

Emoluments for Associate Professor: Rs. 1,10,000/- to Rs. 1,20,000/- per month (CTC)

Professor: Emoluments Rs. 1,30,000/- to Rs. 1,40,000/- per month (CTC). Complete vacancy breakup and specializations are available in the official detailed advertisement.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit: Maximum 50 years as on the last date of application. Age relaxation may be applicable as per Government of India rules; candidates are advised to check the notification.

Assistant Professor:

• B.E./B.Tech + M.E./M.Tech (or Integrated M.Tech) in relevant branch with First Class or equivalent in any one of the degrees.
• OR B.E./B.Tech with First Class + Ph.D in relevant branch.
• For Humanities: Master’s degree with 55% marks + NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D as per UGC regulations.

Associate Professor:

• B.E./B.Tech + M.E./M.Tech with First Class + Ph.D preferred.
• Minimum 6 years teaching/research experience (at least 2 years post-Ph.D).
• At least 6 research publications in reputed journals.

Professor:

• B.E./B.Tech + M.E./M.Tech with First Class + Ph.D.
• Minimum 10 years experience (at least 3 years at Associate Professor level).
• Minimum 6-10 research publications + Ph.D guidance experience.

Age Limit
