Overview of ONGC Merit Scholarship 2025–26

The ONGC Foundation, the CSR arm of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, administers this merit-based scholarship to empower talented students from economically weaker sections. The scholarship provides direct bank transfer of ₹4,000 per month (₹48,000 annually) to cover academic expenses. It is renewable yearly subject to maintaining minimum 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA.

Eligibility Criteria

• Nationality: Indian citizen studying in India.
• Course: Enrolled in the first year of full-time regular professional courses: Engineering (B.E./B.Tech), MBBS, MBA, or Master’s in Geology/Geophysics.
• Academic Requirement: Minimum 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA in the qualifying examination (Class 12 for UG or graduation for PG courses).
• Age Limit: Not more than 30 years as on the cutoff date specified in the notification.
• Income Limit: Family annual income ≤ ₹4.5 lakh for SC/ST candidates; ≤ ₹2 lakh for OBC/General (EWS) candidates.
• Reservation: 50% scholarships reserved for girl students.
• Other: Students should not be availing any other major scholarship.

Scholarship Amount and Distribution

Selected students receive ₹48,000 annually, disbursed directly to their bank account. The scholarship is renewable every year subject to maintaining minimum 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA and satisfactory academic progress.

• Engineering: Majority share (around 1,100 total across categories)
• MBBS: Around 190
• MBA: Around 240
• Geology/Geophysics: Around 470

Breakup includes 1,000 for SC/ST, 500 for OBC, and 500 for General (EWS). Exact numbers may vary slightly by official notification.

Application Fee

There is no application fee for the ONGC Merit Scholarship 2025–26. Candidates can apply free of cost.

Selection Process

Selection is purely merit-based, considering marks in the qualifying exam, category reservation, income criteria, and document verification.
