Organization Overview

The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC), headquartered in Cuttack, is the premier constitutional body responsible for recruiting candidates for various civil services and judicial posts in the state of Odisha. Post Details

The recruitment is for the post of Civil Judge (Junior Division) in the Odisha Judicial Service, 2025. The pay scale is Rs. 77,840 – 1,36,520 per month, along with dearness and other allowances as sanctioned by the Government of Odisha. The selected candidates will serve under the Law Department, Government of Odisha, and will be responsible for adjudicating civil and criminal cases at the district level.

Candidates must be citizens of India, of good character and sound health, free from organic defect and physical infirmity. They must be able to speak, read and write Odia fluently. Candidates with more than one spouse living are not eligible unless exempted by the State Government. SC/ST/SEBC reservation and relaxation benefits are admissible only to the SC/ST/SEBC of Odisha by birth.

Age Limit

Candidates must be not below 23 years and not above 42 years of age as on 1st April 2025 (i.e., born not earlier than 2nd April 1983 and not later than 1st April 2002). Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms.

Application Fee

The application fee must be paid online through the OPSC portal. Fee is non-refundable but will be refunded to candidates who actually appear in the Preliminary Written Examination.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of three successive stages:

Important Instructions

• Only online applications will be accepted; no offline mode is available.
• Applications without fee payment (for non-exempt categories) will be rejected.
• SC/ST/SEBC candidates must belong to Odisha by birth to claim reservation.
• SEBC candidates must submit a Non-Creamy Layer certificate not more than 3 years old.
• Community status once filled cannot be changed later.
