The current recruitment is for a project funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) under the project titled “Documentation of Bioresources Utilization in Traditional Crafts of Indigenous Communities of Manipur”.

Post Details

The recruitment drive aims to fill 5 Project Staff positions on a temporary basis. The posts are project-based and co-terminus with the project duration.

Eligibility Criteria

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

• Educational Qualification: M.Sc. with minimum 55% marks or equivalent CGPA in Environmental Science/Anthropology/Forestry/other relevant Biological Sciences/Applied Sciences with NET-JRF/NET-LS/GATE.
• Desirable: Experience in survey techniques and data collection on bioresources utilization in traditional crafts of indigenous communities; willingness to undertake extensive fieldwork in different ethnic forest villages of Manipur; experience in remote sensing & GIS software, data analysis and interpretation.

Field Assistant

• Educational Qualification: B.Sc./Diploma in relevant discipline of Biological Sciences/Applied Sciences.
• Desirable: Experience in community-based fieldwork; knowledge of local languages and cultures; experience in extensive field survey, working in ethnic forest villages of Manipur, crafts specimen collection, storing, processing and preservation; basic computation skills like MS Office, data compilation, file handling and office management.

Age Limit

• Maximum Age: 28 years for all posts.
• Age relaxation as per Government of India rules.
