Part-1: General Studies (80 Questions)

1. History of India and Indian National Movement

Social, cultural, economic and political aspects of Indian history. Comprehensive information on the freedom movement, rise of nationalism and attainment of independence.

2. Geography of India and World

Physical, social and economic geography of India including agriculture, horticulture, forestry, animal husbandry, population and urbanization patterns, smart cities and smart villages. General information about world geography.

3. Economic and Social Development of India

Sustainable development, poverty alleviation, demography, social sector initiatives. Relationship and problems between population, environment and urbanization.

4. Indian Polity and Indian Constitution

Constitutional development in India, Indian Constitution, political system and governance, Panchayati Raj and local self-government, public policy and community development.

5. General Science and Technology

General understanding and knowledge of science based on everyday experience and observation. Application of India's science and technology policy in everyday life, development and national security. Achievements of Indians in science and technology, indigenization of technology, dual-use and technologically useful technologies.

6. Environmental Ecology and Disaster Management

General issues related to environmental ecology, biodiversity and climate change. Disasters in India, disaster mitigation and management. Disaster Management Act-2005, NDMA, SDMA, NDRF, SDRF and various agencies.

7. Sports in India

Rules and general information related to athletics, judo, kabaddi, volleyball, badminton, wrestling, weightlifting, football, swimming, kho-kho etc. Efforts and achievements to promote sports in India.

Selection Process

The selection process for UPSSSC UP Vidhan Bhawan Guard / Fireman posts consists of a written examination (Main Examination) followed by document verification and medical examination.
