How to Apply

Applications must be submitted offline only - either in person or by post - on the prescribed form. The form is available on the Facebook page Uttarakhand Home Guards and from the office notice board, Nanda Ki Chowki, Chakrata Road, Dehradun. Hard copy applications duly filled must be submitted to the office on any working day from 01.05.2026 to 22.05.2026 (by 11:59 PM).

Applications can also be submitted at: Jila Magistrate / SDM / Block / Tehsil / District Employment Office / Senior Superintendent of Police / District Sainik Welfare Office / Sol-Jar Board notice boards (as printed proforma, self-attested).

Health / Medical Standards

Selected candidates will undergo medical examination by Chief Medical Officer / Principal Medical Officer. Vision must be 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other (without glasses). Candidates must be free from flat foot, knock-knee, bow-leg, varicose veins, deformities, or any disability that interferes with duty.

The selection process consists of three stages: Physical Measurement (qualifying), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) carrying 30 marks, and preparation of a final merit list out of 60 marks (including marks for PET, education, NCC/NSS/Scout, Homeguard family, sports and vehicle driving), followed by a medical examination for medically fit candidates.
Male candidates must meet the minimum height and chest measurements as per category and area (General/OBC/SC, ST, and mountainous region), including at least 5 cm chest expansion, and must qualify the PET comprising a 2 km run/walk, cricket ball throw and long jump, each evaluated on a 10‑mark scale.
