SBI PO Selection Process 2026: Step by Step

The SBI PO Selection Process 2026 is conducted in three phases.

Phase 1: Preliminary Examination

This is an online objective test of 100 marks covering English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. It is qualifying in nature. Candidates who clear the sectional and overall cut-off move to Mains.

Phase 2: Main Examination

The Main Exam consists of an Objective Test (200 marks) and a Descriptive Test (50 marks – English Letter & Essay). It tests deeper knowledge in Reasoning, Data Analysis, General Awareness, and English.

Phase 3: Group Discussion & Interview

Candidates who qualify Mains appear for Psychometric Test (qualifying), Group Exercises (20 marks) and Personal Interview (30 marks). Final selection is made on the basis of marks in Mains and GD+Interview. Selected candidates undergo document verification and medical test before appointment.
